Chinese Premier Li Keqiang congratulated to the organisation of the LLM 2014

Important impulses for further development of mutual relations between the Central and Eastern European (CEE) countries and the People’s Republic of China (PRC) on many levels, were brought to life by the Local Leaders Meeting (LLM) 2014, held 28 and 29 August 2014 in Prague together with the China Investment Forum (CIF) 2014. To this historically only second meeting on the LLM platform, with such senior representatives of regions of the PRC and the CEE Countries, has also congratulated Mr Li Keqiang, the Premier of the State Council of the PRC. The congratulatory letter was sent by Mr Premier in his own name and also on behalf of the Chinese government. This is a great honour for the organisers of the LLM/CIF 2014, which they deeply appreciate.

Mr Premier mentioned in his letter, that the second LLM in the history, was achieved thanks to an important agreement made in last November between 16 leaders of the CEE Countries and Mr Premier during the meeting in Bucharest. Since then, it has received broad and positive response from the local governments of the 17 countries. “The Meeting (LLM) is becoming a major platform for China-CEE countries cooperation and plays an increasingly significant role in promoting local development and providing services to businesses”, states Mr Premier in his letter.

Premier Li Keqiang also mentioned that we are celebrating this year’s 65 anniversary of China’s diplomatic ties with the Czech Republic and some other CEE countries. “It is a crucial year for the deepening of China-CEE countries cooperation and it is also the beginning of the endevour toward China-Europe partnership for peace, growth, reform and civilization. Subnational cooperation is wide-ranging in scope, diverse in forms and conducive to development and people’s welfare”, says Mr Premier in his letter.

He has also expressed a wish for the LLM delegates to seize the opportunity to engage in extensive and deep discussions, expand collaboration, and work together to make regional cooperation an important engine for China-CEE countries cooperation, injecting new fresh impetus into the traditional friendship between the two sides and further contributing to the deepening of the mutually beneficial China-EU comprehensive strategic partnership.
